एक गांव में एक सेठ और सेठानी रहते थें।उनकी एक बेटी थी। जिसकी शादी उन्होंने बड़ी धूम धाम से एक बहुत ही सम्पन्न परिवार में की थी। परंतु शादी के कुछ वर्षों बाद ही बेटी के ससुराल में उसके सास और ससुर परलोक सिधार गए। उसके पति के व्यवसाय में भी हानि होती जा रही थी।सेठ और सेठानी अपनी तरफ से उसकी बहुत मदद कर रहे थे। परंतु उनके कुछ दिन अच्छी तरह से व्यतीत हो जाते और फिर वही हाल हो जाता । उसका पति जिस भी व्यवसाय को शुरू करता उसी में उसे हानि हो जाती। सेठ और सेठानी ने उन्हे अपने यहां आकर रहने को कहा किंतु उन दोनों ने साफ मना कर दिया। अब तो सेठ जी भी उनकी मदद करके तंग आ चुके थें । इसलिए उन्होंने सोचा कि जब उनके भाग्य में ही इस समय सुख नही है तो उनकी मदद करने से कोई फायदा नही। इसलिए सेठ जी ने उन्हे उनके हाल पर छोड़ दिया। परंतु मां तो मां होती हैं। सेठानी जी उनकी अब भी मदद करना चाहती थी। एक दिन सेठानी ने अपनी बेटी को बुलावा भिजवा कर मिलने के लिए बुलाया। परंतु उस दिन उसकी बेटी की तबियत ठीक नहीं थीइसलिए उसने अपने पति को भेज दिया । और कहा कि तुम जाकर मां से मिल आओ, उन्हे मेरी तबियत के बारे मे कुछ भी नही बताना। पति ने कहा ठीक है और मिलने चला गया। उस समय सेठ जी घर पर नही थें।सेठानी ने अपने दामाद की खूब मेहमानी की। सेठानी ने सोचा कि अगर मैं पैसे से इन्हे मदद करू तो कहीं सेठ जी बुरा ना मान जाएं। इसलिए सेठानी ने कुछ लड्डू बनाए। लड्डू बनाते समय उसने एक लड्डू काफी बड़ा बनाया और उसमे अपनी हीरे की अंगूठी छुपा दी ।उसने चलते हुए वो डिब्बा अपने दामाद को दे दिया । और दामाद वहां से चल दिया। रास्ते में उसने एक हलवाई की दुकान देखी। उसने सोचा कि क्यों ना इस लड्डू के डिब्बे को बेचकर कुछ पैसे ले लेता हूं। पैसे होंगे तो कुछ काम ही आयेंगे। उसने हलवाई से जाकर ये बात कहीं। पहले तो हलवाई ने मना कर दिया लेकिन दामाद के बहुत कहने पर वो मान गया। हलवाई ने उसे पैसे दे दिए । दामाद पैसे लेकर अपने घर चला गया। रास्ते में उधर से सेठ जी आ रहे थे ।उन्होंने हलवाई की वहीं दुकान देखी और सोचा कि सेठानी के लिए कुछ मिठाई खरीद लेता हूं। सेठ जी ने हलवाई से मिठाई देने को कहा। और भाग्य से हलवाई ने वही मिठाई का डिब्बा दे दिया जो उसका दामाद बेचकर गया था। सेठ जी ने लड्डुओं का डिब्बा खरीदा और घर चले गए। घर जाकर उन्होने वो डिब्बा सेठानी को दे दिया। सेठानी ने डिब्बा खोलकर जैसे ही लड्डू को उठाकर खाया उस लड्डू में से उसकी हीरे की अंगूठी मिली। उसने सेठ जी से पूछा कि वे ये लड्डू कहां से लाए है तो सेठ जी ने हलवाई की दुकान का जिक्र किया और पूछा कि तुम ये सब क्यों पूछ रही हो। तब सेठानी ने कहा कि आप सही कहते थें कि जब किसी के भाग्य में कुछ मिलना नहीं होता तो उसे नही मिलता । सेठ जी ने कहा कि तुम ऐसा क्यो कह रही हो? तब सेठानी ने सारी बात बता दी। सेठ जी ने जाकर हलवाई से पूछा कि बताओ तुम्हे ये लड्डू कहां से मिले थें । तब हलवाई ने बताया कि एक आदमी उसे ये लड्डुओं का डिब्बा देकर गया था। उसके बाद सेठ और सेठानी ने घर जाकर भगवान से अपनी बेटी और दामाद के दुर्भाग्य को सौभाग्य में बदलने के लिए बहुत सी प्राथनाएं और व्रत किए। फिर कई वर्षों बाद उनकी बेटी का भाग्योदय हुआ ।उसके पति का व्यवसाय भी ठीक चलने लगा। तब जाकर सेठ और सेठानी ने राहत की सांस ली।
तो भक्तो, इस कथा से हमे यही सीख मिलती है कि जो हमारे भाग्य में लिखा होता है हमें वही मिलता है।जब तक भाग्य साथ नहीं देता तब तक कुछ नही मिलता ।
A Seth and Sethani lived in a village. They had a daughter. Whom he married with great pomp in a very wealthy family. But after a few years of marriage, her mother-in-law and father-in-law went to the next world in the daughter's in-laws' house. There was also a loss in her husband's business. Seth and Sethani were helping him a lot on their behalf. But some of his days would go well and then the same thing happened. Whatever business her husband started, he would have suffered a loss. Seth and Sethani asked him to come and stay with them but both of them flatly refused. Now even Seth ji was fed up with helping him. That's why they thought that when there is no happiness in their fate at this time, then there is no use in helping them. So Seth ji left him on his condition. But a mother is a mother. Sethani ji still wanted to help them. One day Sethani sent a call to his daughter and called to meet her. But that day her daughter was not feeling well, so she sent her husband. And said that you go and meet your mother, don't tell her anything about my health. Husband said ok and went to meet. Seth ji was not at home at that time. Sethani made his son-in-law very hospitable. Sethani thought that if I help them with money, then Seth ji should not feel bad. So Sethani made some laddus. While making laddus, he made a laddu big enough and hid his diamond ring in it. He gave the box to his son-in-law while walking. And the son-in-law left from there. On the way he saw a confectionery shop. He thought that why not sell this box of laddoos and take some money. If there is money, then some work will come. He went to the confectioner and said this. At first, the confectioner refused, but on the request of the son-in-law, he agreed. The confectioner gave him the money. The son-in-law took the money and went to his house. On the way, Seth ji was coming from there. He saw the confectionery shop there and thought that I would buy some sweets for Sethani. Seth ji asked the confectioner to give sweets. And luckily, the confectioner gave the same box of sweets that his son-in-law had sold. Seth ji bought a box of laddoos and went home. After going home, he gave that box to Sethani. As soon as Sethani opened the box, picked up the laddu and ate it, he found his diamond ring from that laddoo. He asked Seth ji from where he had brought these laddus, then Seth ji mentioned the confectionery shop and asked why are you asking all this. Then Sethani said that you used to rightly say that when one does not get anything in one's fate, then he does not get it. Seth ji said why are you saying this? Then Sethani told the whole thing. Seth ji went and asked the confectioner that from where did you get these laddus. Then the confectioner told that a man had given him a box of laddoos. After that Seth and Sethani went home and made many prayers and fasts to God to convert the misfortune of their daughter and son-in-law into good fortune. Then after many years her daughter got lucky. Her husband's business also started doing well. Then Seth and Sethani heaved a sigh of relief.
So devotees, the only lesson we get from this story is that we get what is written in our destiny. Nothing gets done until fate favors us.
