कैसे पड़ा शेखचिल्ली का नाम
शेखचिल्ली एक महान सूफी संत थे। मुगल बादशाह शाहजहाँ का पुत्र दारा शिकोह उन्हें अपना गुरू मानते थे। शाहजहाँ भी उनके बहुत बड़े प्रशंषक थे।वास्तविकता में उनका नाम सूफी अब्द उर रज्ज़ाक था।
इसके अलावा उन्हें अब्द उर रहीम, अलैस अब्द उर करीम, अलैस अब्द उर रज्जाक के नाम से भी जाना जाता था। वे
बलूचिस्तान के एक खानाबदोश कबीले में जन्मे, शेखचिल्ली को उनकी घुमक्कड़ी का शौक भारत में ले आया। शेखचिल्ली को न व्यवहारिकता की परवाह थी, न ही दिखावे में विश्वास करते थे। वे अपनी बात बड़ी ही ईमानदारी और सफाई से कह दिया करते थे। उनकी बातें इतनी खरी-खरी होती थी कि उसमें से हास्य उत्पन्न हो जाता था। उनकी सरलता और भोलापन भी लोगों को हँसने पर विवश कर देता था । इस कहानी में हम आपको शेखचिल्ली के बचपन में ले जायेंगे। इसमें उस समय की उस घटना का वर्णन है, जहाँ से उनका नाम शेखचिल्ली पड़ गया।
शेखचिल्ली की पैदाइश शेख परिवार में हुई थी। पिता के निधन के बाद उनकी माँ ने बेहद ग़रीबी में उनकी परवरिश की। ग़रीबी के बावजूद माँ उसे अच्छी शिक्षा दिलवाना चाहती थी। इसलिए उसका दाखिला गाँव के एक मदरसे में करवा दिया। वह रोज़ मदरसे में जाने लगा और मौलवी से तालीम लेने लगा। मदरसे में गाँव के कई बच्चे आया करते थे। शेख परिवार से ताल्लुक होने के कारण वे सभी उसे ‘शेख” पुकारा करते थे। मौलवी साहब ने एक दिन पढ़ाया, “लड़की के लिए जाती है, तो लड़का के लिए जाता है. लड़की के लिए खाती है, तो लड़का के लिए खाता है।” सारे बच्चों के पीछे-पीछे दोहराया, “लड़की जाती है, तो लड़का जाता है. लड़की खाती है, तो लड़का खाता है”
फिर मौलवी ने सबसे पूछा, “आया समझ में.”
सबने “हाँ” में अपना सिर हिलाया, शेख ने भी।
शाम को मदरसे से वापस घर जाते समय शेख को किसी लड़की के चिल्लाने की आवाज़ आई। वह भागा-भागा आवाज़ की दिशा में गया। वहाँ उसने देखा कि एक लड़की तालाब में डूब रही है और मदद के लिए पुकार रही है। अकेले उसे तालाब से बाहर निकाल पाना शेख के बस के बाहर था। वह दौड़ता हुआ मदरसे के साथियों के पास गया और बोला, “एक लड़की चिल्ली रही है। जल्दी चलो।” किसी को भी समझ नहीं आया कि शेख कहना क्या चाहता है। लेकिन वे उसके साथ तालाब पर पहुँच गए। जब उन्होंने एक लड़की को डूबते हुए देखा, तो उसकी मदद कर उसे बाहर निकाला। तालाब से बाहर निकलने के बाद भी वह रोना-पीटना मचाती रही। उसे देख शेख बोला, “देखो, अब भी कितना चिल्ली रही है। अरे, अब चुप भी हो जा।” बार-बार ‘चिल्ली’ सुनकर शेख के साथी तंग आ चुके थे। वे बोले, “शेख, तू बार-बार "चिल्ली रही है, चिल्ली रही है " क्यों कह रहा है?” तो शेख ने कहा
“अरे मौलवी साहब ने ही तो सिखाया था। लड़के के लिए ‘जाता है’, लड़की के लिए ‘जाती है’। वैसे ही लड़के के लिए ‘चिल्ला’ रहा है और लड़की के लिए ‘चिल्ली’ रही है।” उसकी मूर्खतापूर्ण बात सुनकर सब जोर जोर से हँसने लगे। उस दिन के बाद से सब उसे ‘चिल्ली-चिल्ली’ चिढ़ाने लगे और बाद में यह ‘चिल्ली’ शेख के साथ जुड़ गया और वो ‘शेखचिल्ली’ कहलाने लगा।

Sheikhchilli was a great Sufi saint. Dara Shikoh, the son of the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, considered him as his guru. Shah Jahan was also his great admirer.
Actually his name was Sufi Abd ur Razzaq.
Apart from this, he was also known as Abd ur Rahim, Alas Abd ur Kareem, Alas Abd ur Razzaq. they
Born into a nomadic tribe in Balochistan, Sheikhchilli's passion for traveling brought him to India. Shekhchilli neither cared for practicality, nor did he believe in appearances. He used to say his point very honestly and clearly. His words were so honest that humor came out of it. His simplicity and innocence also compelled people to laugh. In this story we will take you back to the childhood of Sheikhchilli. It describes the incident of that time, from where he got his name Sheikhchilli.
Sheikhchilli was born in a Sheikh family. After the death of his father, his mother raised him in extreme poverty. Despite the poverty, the mother wanted him to get a good education. So he got him enrolled in a madrassa in the village. He started going to madrassa everyday and took training from Maulvi. Many children of the village used to come to the madrasa. They all used to call him 'Sheikh' as he belonged to the Sheikh family. Maulvi Sahib taught one day, “If it goes for the girl, it goes for the boy. Eats for the girl, eats for the boy." Repeated after all the children, “The girl goes, the boy goes. Girl eats, boy eats"
Then the Maulvi asked everyone, "I understand."
Everyone nodded their heads "yes", Shaikh too.
In the evening, on his way back home from the madrasa, Shaikh heard a girl screaming. He ran in the direction of the voice. There he saw a girl drowning in the pond and calling for help. It was beyond Shaikh's bus to get him out of the pond alone. He ran to the fellows of the madrasa and said, “A girl is screaming. Come fast." No one understood what Shaikh wanted to say. But they reached the pond with him. When he saw a girl drowning, he helped her out. Even after coming out of the pond, she kept on crying. Seeing her the sheikh said, "Look, how much she is still crying. Oh, shut up now." Sheikh's companions were fed up after hearing 'chilli' again and again. He said, "Sheikh, why are you saying "chilli rahi hai, chilli rahi hai" again and again? so the sheikh said
“Oh Maulvi Sahib, it was he who taught. For the boy 'goes', for the girl 'goes'. Similarly, there is 'chilla' for the boy and 'chilli' for the girl." Hearing his stupid words, everyone started laughing out loud. From that day onwards everyone started teasing him 'chilli-chilli' and later this 'chilli' got associated with Sheikh and he came to be called 'Sheikhchilli'.
