बहुत साल पहले उत्तानपाद नाम का एक राजा था।उसकी दो पत्नियां थी। पहली पत्नी का नाम सुनीति और दूसरी पत्नी का नाम सुरुचि था । सुरुचि बहुत सुंदर थी इसीलिए राजा अधिक से अधिक समय अपनी दूसरी पत्नी सुरुचि के साथ बिताते थे। वह पूरे महीने में एक ही बार सुनीति से मिलने जाता था सुनीति के पुत्र का नाम दुर्वा था एक दिन सुरुचि का बेटा अपने पिता की गोद में खेल रहा था और राजा के बगल में ही सुरुचि बैठी हुई थी तो यह दृश्य देखकर ध्रुवा के मन में विचार आया कि मुझे भी पिताजी के साथ खेलना है इसलिए वह भाग कर के अपने पिता की गोद में बैठ गया लेकिन जब सुरुचि ने यह देखा तो उसे गुस्सा आ गया और उसने ध्रुवा को अपने पति की कोशिश छीन कर के वापस जमीन पर उतार दिया। और उससे कहा कि अगर तुम्हें महाराज की गोद में खेलना है तो तुम्हें उसके लिए अगले जन्म तक का इंतजार करना होगा और भगवान शिव की कड़ी तपस्या करनी होगी तब जाकर ही तुम्हें मेरे पुत्र होने का सुख मिलेगा यह सुनकर जो वह भागकर महल से बाहर निकल जाता है और जोर जोर से रोने लगता है तभी उसकी मां यानी कि सुनी थी वहां आती है और ध्रुवा को रोते हुए देख कर उसके रोने का कारण पूछती है ध्रुव सारे बाद अपनी माता को बताता है तो माता उदास होकर कहती हैं कि पुत्र अगर तुम चाहते हो कि तुम्हें अपने पिता का प्यार मिले तो तुम्हें इसके लिए भगवान शिव की तपस्या करनी पड़ेगी तुम्हें उनका नाम जपना होगा और जब वह तुम्हारे सामने स्मरण हो जाएंगे तुम उनसे अपने पिता की प्यार की इच्छा रखना वह तुम्हारी इच्छा जरूर पूरी करेंगे यह सुनकर ध्रुव ने फैसला किया कि वह भगवान शिव की तपस्या जरूर करेगा और उसने अपने सारे राज्य आभूषण उतार दिए और साधु का रूप धारण किया और 1 की ओर चला गया और रास्ते में उसे नारद भगवान मिले नारद जी ने उसे कहा कि यहां पर बहुत अंधेरा होने वाला है और इस जंगल में बहुत जंगली जानवर हैं जो तुम्हें हानि पहुंचा सकते हैं तुम वापस अपने गांव की ओर चले जाओ ध्रुवा ने नाराजी से हाथ जोड़कर कहा नहीं महाराज मैं यहां से वापस तभी जाऊंगा जब मुझे भगवान शिव या भगवान कृष्ण के दर्शन होंगे नाराज जी उसकी इस इच्छा को देखकर प्रसन्न हुए और दुकान में एक मंत्र बोला उस मंत्र को सुनकर ध्रुव को बहुत ही आश्चर्य हुआ और उसकी उत्सुकता पहले से 2 गुना बढ़ गई और वह जंगल के बीचो बीच चला गया और नदी किनारे जाकर स्नान किया और तपस्या के लिए बैठ गया पहले महीने में ग्रुप में सिर्फ तीन ही फल खाए दूसरे महीने में उसने कुछ पत्तों का भोजन किया और तीसरे महीने में सिर्फ कुछ ही बार पानी पिया वह अपनी समस्या में बहुत ज्यादा क्लीन था करते करते 5 महीने बीत चुके थे फिर 1 दिन सभी देवी देवता नारा जी के साथ भगवान ब्रह्मा विष्णु और महेश के पास गए उन्होंने हाथ जोड़कर ध्रुवा के बारे में बताया नारद जी ने ब्रह्मा विष्णु महेश जी से कहा कि भगवान जो धरती पर आज की कड़ी तपस्या कर रहा है और उसकी तपस्या का प्रताप हम संभाल नहीं पा रहे हैं कृपया करके उसकी इच्छा पूरी करें तो भगवान विष्णु ने स्वयं ध्रुव की इच्छा पूरी करने का फैसला किया और वह धरती लोग के लिए निकल गए और सीधा दुर्ग के सामने जा पहुंचे और कहा कि ध्रुव अपनी आंखे खोलो मैं तुम्हारी इस तपस्या से प्रसन्न हुआ हूं तुम जो मांगोगे मैं तुम्हें वह दूंगा ध्रुव को यह ग्रुप में यह बात सुनकर के उसे आश्चर्य हुआ परंतु उसने हाथ जोड़कर बंद आंखों से ही माफी मांगी और कहा कि भगवान मुझे यह सूअर काफी समय से अपने कानों में सुनाई पड़ रहा है और हर बार मैं अपनी आंखें खोल लेता हूं और मैं तपस्या भंग हो जाती हैं यदि आप सच में भगवान विष्णु हैं तो आपको मुझे बंद आंखों से ही दर्शन देने होंगे ताकि मुझे विश्वास हो जाए कि सच में आप भगवान ही हैं भगवान विष्णु की बात को सुनकर के हंस पड़ते हैं और अपना चमत्कार से ध्रुव को बंद आंखों से दर्शन दे देते हैं और साथ में यह वरदान देते हैं कि तुम अपने समय के सबसे महान राजा बनोगे तुम्हें माता पिता और राज्य सभी का प्यार समान रूप में मिलेगा और जिंदगी के बाद भी तुम्हें एक उच्च स्थान की प्राप्ति होगी और ऐसा क्या कर के भगवान दुर्ग को वरदान दे देते हैं और ध्रुव अपनी आंखें खोल कर भगवान को देखते हैं अपनी इच्छा पूरी होने पर वह ध्रुव बहुत खुश रहता है और भगवान विष्णु अदृश्य रहते हैं और वापस अपने महल की ओर निकल पड़ता है जैसे ही वह महल के द्वार पर पहुंचता है वह देखता है कि महल के द्वार पर उसके पिता और माता उसका इंतजार कर रहे हैं विभाग के अपने पिता की गोद में जाता है पिता उसे बहुत प्यार करते हैं और भगवान के भगवान विष्णु के कहे अनुसार ध्रुव अपने बड़ा होकर के एक बहुत ही महान राजा बनता है और मरने के बाद ध्रुव तारा बन जाते हैं।

And told him that if you want to play in Maharaj's lap, then you will have to wait for him till the next birth and do austerity of Lord Shiva, then only you will get the pleasure of being my son after hearing that he runs out of the palace. goes and starts crying loudly, only then his mother i.e. heard him comes there and seeing Dhruva crying, asks the reason for her crying. If you want to get the love of your father, then you will have to do penance to Lord Shiva for this, you will have to chant his name and when he is remembered in front of you, you wish your father's love from him, he will definitely fulfill your wish. decided that he would definitely do penance of Lord Shiva and he took off all his state ornaments and took the form of a monk and went towards 1 and on the way he met Lord Narada. Narad ji told him that it was going to be very dark here. and there are many wild animals in this forest that can harm you. Go towards your village, Dhruva angrily said with folded hands, no sir, I will go back from here only when I see Lord Shiva or Lord Krishna, angry ji was pleased to see his wish and said a mantra in the shop, listening to that mantra Dhruv was very surprised and his curiosity increased 2 times than before and he went to the middle of the forest and went to the river bank and took a bath and sat for penance. In the first month he ate only three fruits in the group, in the second month he did some ate leaves and drank water only a few times in the third month, he was very clean in his problem, 5 months had passed, then on 1 day all the deities went to Lord Brahma Vishnu and Mahesh with Nara ji, they folded their hands. Narad ji told about Dhruva, Brahma Vishnu Mahesh ji said that the Lord who is doing hard penance on earth today and we are not able to handle the glory of his penance, please fulfill his wish, then Lord Vishnu himself did Dhruva. Decided to fulfill the wish and he left for the earth people and went straight to the fort. I went in front and said that Dhruv, open your eyes, I am pleased with your penance, I will give you whatever you ask. Dhruv was surprised to hear this in the group, but he apologized with folded hands and closed eyes and said That Lord I have been hearing this boar in my ears for a long time and every time I open my eyes and I break my penance if you are really Lord Vishnu then you have to see me with closed eyes so that I can Believe that you are really God, listening to the words of Lord Vishnu, laughs and with his miracle, appears to Dhruv with closed eyes and also gives a boon that you will become the greatest king of your time. The love of parents and the state will be received equally, and even after life, you will get a high position and by doing this, God gives a boon to the fort and Dhruva opens his eyes and sees God when his wish is fulfilled. That Dhruva is very happy and Lord Vishnu remains invisible and goes back to his palace. As he reaches the gate of the palace he sees that his father and mother are waiting for him at the gate of the palace. According to this, Dhruva grows up to be a very great king and after his death, Dhruva becomes a star.
